RENAULT Master Vehicle Technician / Technical Expert (RTE) Great Dunmow, Essex

Reporting to: Workshop Manager / Workshop Controller 
Salary: Starting at £48,000 + Bonus DOE
Position type: Full-Time Contract

Working Hours: Mon-Thu 08.00–17.30hrs Fri: 08.00 – 17.00hrs + any additional hours as required.
Hours Per Week: 42 

JOB SUMMARY 

As a Renault Master Vehicle Technician / Technical Expert (RTE) you will be working within a professional  garage / workshop environment  alongside fellow Vehicle Technicians. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A RENAULT MASTER VEHICLE TECHNICIAN / TECHNICAL EXPERT (RTE)

The Renault Master Vehicle Technician / Technical Expert reports to the Management Team and Workshop Controller. 

This role involves carrying out service, diagnosis and repair of vehicles to the highest standards. You will also be:

  • Communicating with the Service Advisors and Workshop Control
  • Speaking with customers on occasion to provide expert knowledge and technical opinion.
  • Maintaining thorough and up-to-date technical knowledge of our product portfolio
  • Maintaining the highest levels of customer service to encourage customer loyalty and referrals
  • Carrying out, diagnosis and repair of vehicles to the highest standards.
  • Supporting, mentoring and tutoring the team members.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards and orderly administration of all your work.
  • Communicating with both the Service Advisor / Reception team and Workshop Control.
  • Delivering exceptionally high customer service levels that lead to customer loyalty and referrals.
  • Adhering to manufacturer procedures and processes.
  • Being part of a team and bringing a high attention to detail.
  • Ensuring that all work meets quality standards.
  • Meeting / exceeding all personal and company goals, targets and objectives.
  • Responsibility for maintaining a safe and clean work environment and adheres to all company policies and regulations.
  • Use of the in-house company computer system to accurately record all activity willingness to attend any internal / external company training courses aimed at enhancing your skills and keeping up to date with industry changes / standards.

  • Adhering to company manual handling procedures at all times..
  • To help create and maintain a positive and friendly working environment.

  • Assist in all other workshop duties as and when it may be required.

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    Qualifications and education requirements: 

    • City & Guilds or NVQ level III Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualifications.
    • Master Technician accreditation (any brand / manufacturer).
    • Be fully equipped with their own tools.
    • Possess a Full UK driving licence

    Experience and Skills:

    • We will prioritise candidates with previous RTE / Co-Tech experience with Renault although we are able to provide dedicated ‘conversion’ courses for a Master or Gold-level Technician moving to us from another brand / manufacturer.
    • We will also consider candidates with proven experience working as a Master Technician/Vehicle Technician (L3) within a busy, fast moving independent workshop / garage.
    • Possess a good and varied knowledge and understanding of motor vehicles

The role involves carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs of cars and vans to the highest standards whilst maintaining optimal efficiencies and first-time fix.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A RENAULT VEHICLE TECHNICIAN (LEVEL 3)

    The Vehicle Technician reports to the Management Team and Workshop Controller. 

    • Carrying out service, diagnosis and repair of vehicles to excellent standards.
    • Speaking with customers and providing your technical opinion.
    • Supporting and tutoring the team, mentoring the apprentices on site.
    • Maintaining thorough and up-to-date product knowledge.
